The 4th Camberley Scout Group was first registered with the Scout Association
in 1930. Originally, the Group was located near to the Frimley Road until
we moved to our present location on the London Road, Camberley, a stone's
throw away from the Main Entrance to the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst
and Camberley town centre, then in a wooden hut. The current hall, restored
following an arson attack in 1993, was opened in 1975. The Group is one
of the oldest in the Surrey Heath Scout District and certainly the oldest
in Camberley. As such, the Group has the honour of wearing the grey scarf
of Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scout Movement.
In the year 2000, the Group celebrated 70 years of Scouting and in 1991
were one of the first Groups in the country to introduce girls into the
Scout section. Our Group is now totally co-educational.
